Q--I have an old wood garage door that needs replaced, what should I replace it with?
A--Cressy Door offers a complete line of steel and wood garage doors, so the type of door you select is really a personal choice. However, if you want a door that requires less maintenance choose a steel garage door.
Q--Can I paint a steel door to match the color of my house?
A--Yes. door manufacturers recommend that you lightly sand the exterior of the door to help the paint adhere to the finished surface. Use a latex-based paint, do not paint the door with an oil-based paint.
Q--The spring on my door is broken, can the door be repaired?
A--Yes. If the spring on your door breaks, please call 1-800-321-6394 to reach Cressy Door.

Q--I have just moved into a new house and the previous owner did not leave the remote controls for the garage door opener, what do I do?
A--Please call 1-800-321-6394
to be connected to Cressy Door Company. We will determine what type of garage door opener that you have in your house and the proper remote controller to match the opener.
Q--My garage door opener is about ten years old. Is it susceptible to thieves using a code-grabbing device?
A--Yes. Openers that are
older than five years use common radio technology that can be intercepted by a code-grabbing device. Newer openers have a technology that uses a code combination of 4.3 billion possible combinations...eliminating the possibility of having your code-grabbed. If your opener is an older unit, you can purchase a conversion kit from Cressy Door for under $100 to upgrade your garage door opener to the newest technology.
Q--How do I reprogram my remote controller?
A--Depending on the model of your garage door opener, you can program your remote control/opener yourself. Contact our Seattle office of Cressy Door at 206-632-0533 to walk you through the process.

Q--I have a project that requires doors that are outside the standard size grid. Is there any way to meet my project´s requirements?
